Chocolate Easter Eggs With A Twist! My Sweet Tooth Beckons

by Silicon Valley Blogger on 2009-04-1210

Happy Easter to everyone! Who’s in the mood for some sweets? Easter is such a divine time to celebrate with your family, and for us, it’s a big deal as we look upon it as a religious holiday. But one of our traditions is to hold an Easter party or event at our home where we prepare creative easter eggs for an easter egg hunt for the kids. It’s always been a huge smash (pun intended) at our home, and makes for awesome memories.

Chocolate in itself is a big weakness of mine, so anything made of this yummy concoction will get my attention. As mentioned, we’re having our traditional family get together today, but I’m squeezing in this photo gallery here to whet your appetite for chocolate easter eggs. Found these on AOL UK (an older post, but the eggs look so delicious!). They look sumptuous, unique and perfect for chocolate lovers who have everything. Nice if you’ve got the money and the sugar cravings!

Ecuador Easter Egg

24 Carat Easter Egg
Thorntons came up with this egg made with Ecuadorian milk chocolate and Tanzanian dark chocolate. This was handmade.

A chocolatier and a well-known jewelry designer came up with this easter egg containing 24 carat gold and a necklace inside.

Chili Easter Egg

Green and Black's Easter Egg
This “Pleasure and Pain” easter egg is made of dark, organic chocolate and the world’s hottest chili pepper called Naga Jolokia.

If you’re a chocoholic, this chocolate egg collection can be your thing.

Russian Doll Easter Egg

Godiva Easter Egg
I wrote about Russian easter eggs before. Well, this particularly interesting egg was inspired by matryoshka dolls!

Godiva’s Nougatine Egg no. 5 weighs almost 5.5 pounds. How long would it take to gobble this up?

~~~~~~
Melt Easter Egg
Harrod's Easter Egg
This Golden Egg, decorated with 18 carat gold leaf, contains one ounce of gold bullion and is priced at 1,000 pounds. See more of it here!
These are fancy: made of the rarest cocoa beans in the world, these eggs are embellished with rose petals, silver, sugar crystals, bronze and gold. This is art, not candy!
~~~~~~

Rose Easter Egg

Ostrich Easter Egg
This pretty carved egg is filled with twelve types of truffles and has been infused with a “rose essence”. It looks pretty sweet.

This must be my favorite chocolate easter egg of all. This 3 pound Ostrich easter egg is filled with pralines, brownies, caramel truffles, chocolate covered nuts. What a suger overload!

Now that you’ve seen all these eggs, you probably feel like you can lay off the sugar for a while. I’m already buzzed.

Wow, I’m sitting here with a stomach ache from too much candy. I think this sent me over the edge. I’ll take the pleasure and pain egg. Looks like a challenge!

I definitely agree with that favorite of yours. The Russian style egg looks nice as well but your top pick just looks a little better 😉

Where do you find these gems? The last one is making my mouth water, wish I would have seen this before Easter came and past. Regards!
